Chikhaldara, Maharashtra, India

Located in the Amaravati district, Chikhaldhara is the only hill station in the Vidarbha region. It is situated at a height of 1,118 m and offers plenty wildlife, lovely lakes and waterfalls. According to legends, Chikaldhara is named after the demon Keechaka, who was killed by the Pandava hero, Bhima.

Located in the middle of the Sahyadri Hills, and about 185 km from Mumbai on the Nasik road, is the hill station Bhandardara. It is known for its high mountains, waterfalls and lush greenery. Bhandardara has one of the most beautiful lakes in the country, known as Arthur Lake. It is formed by the waters of the Pravara River.

Located in the Sahyadri ranges in the Western Ghats, Amboli is a quaint hill station, surrounded by thick forests of the Anjani tree and plantations of cardamom; and crisscrossed by a number of tiny streams. It is situated at a height of 690 m and is particularly known for the forests and steep mountains on one side and having the sandy Konkan coast on the other side.
