Hotel Splendid is a large 5 star hotel on the beach in Becici on tyhe Budva Riviera in Montenegro. The amenities are great, but the hotel grounds resound with canned music at all hours and the staff are not always as accommodating as I would have liked. I stayed here for 3 weeks in the summer of 2008.

Wonderful 5 star hotel in the center of Sofia. Huge rooms with complementary high speed internet access, good breakfast, several bars, two restaurants and a health center with fitness room, sauna, jacuzzi, spa and beauty treatments. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I stayed here in May 2008.

Very nice hotel in the charming Alfama district. Excellent service, good breakfast and port wine on the house :) NB! There are some steep hills to climb coming home from downtown Lisbon, but I didn't mind.

The Best Western Hotel Olimpia is ideally situated in the very heart of the romantic city of Venice, just a short walk from Piazzale Roma. Charming hotel, quiet and clean. Not close to the sites, but I didn't mind the walk. I stayed here in April 2008.

Hotel Al Sole is located in a noble palace built in the beginning of the Fifteenth century, a short distance from Piazzale Roma. It is in the vicinity of lots of nice restaurants, yet on a quiet street. I found this hotel on one of my walks.

The best hotel in charming Tosse de Mar, Costa Brava (2 hours north of Barcelona). Great breakfast, nice pool, close to a very nice beach with kayaking, diving, snorkling and more. 5 mins from city centre and a lot of cafes and restaurants. Drawbacks: expensive spa, lousy gym and expensive internet access. I stayed here in the summer of 2006.
